Vision & Mission
Vision: Transform lives, communities, and the world through God’s Word, compassionate service, and discipleship.
Mission: Empower holistic transformation via church planting, medical care, education, humanitarian services, Scripture translation, language development, and global mission mobilization.
Scripture: Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) – God’s Word accomplishes its purpose.
Leadership Message (Umar Benjamin Simon, CEO/Executive President)
Gratitude for God’s faithfulness in joint GCB/UBMEF ministry. Key milestone: Successful translation of the first five New Testament books (plus Romans) in local languages. Ongoing work in community development, clean water, healthcare, agriculture, reforestation, and free medical services amid challenges. Emphasis on Bible translation, church planting, humanitarian aid, and community strengthening. Call for continued partnership.
Bible Translation
Clusters: Albarka (12 Nigerian languages total across Albarka, Mare, BDS).
Progress:
Albarka: Completed Four Gospels + Acts (target was Synoptic Gospels + Acts); plus Romans in just two years.
Mare: Three Synoptic Gospels completed.
BDS: Reviewing Gospel of Mark.
Portions launched in communities; lives transformed (e.g., Simon, former teacher, now teaches with clarity and conviction after joining translation team).
Impact: Preserving languages, deepening faith, renewing lives in communities like Sya, Gyem, etc.
Scripture Engagement (SE)
Activities: Storytelling, memorization, group listening, audio Scriptures, community visits, sports, clean-ups, tree planting.
Results in Albarka: Increased trust and interest; 38 new conversions, 48 rededications.
Audio Scriptures especially powerful – people feel God speaking directly in their heart language.
Literacy & Language Development
Orthography and dictionary work progressing.
Each language: At least 2,000 documented words (target 5,000).
Preserves heritage, builds cultural identity, empowers children through mother-tongue literacy and education.
Missions Unit – Church Planting
Over 30 churches planted across Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Kaduna, Plateau States.
Head office: Weekly fellowships (Wed/Fri/Sat) >50 attendees; Sunday services started January 2026.
New frontiers: Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, etc.
June 2026: Missionaries (Pastor Maina Yakubu & Pastor Jesse Daniel) in Uba/Askira (Borno) and Kumo (Gombe). Church in Uba already has 40 members.
Challenges: Trauma from Boko Haram/banditry violence; call for trauma healing center.
Prayer for protection, growth, and open doors.
Medical Outreach & Community Development
Two-decade ministry bringing healing and Gospel across multiple states.
2024 (Puekoot, Plateau): 550 people treated; 24 salvations.
2025 Mega Outreach (Kwassam, Kaduna):
2,214 people served.
1,274 lab tests, 316 dental procedures, 735 counselling sessions.
90 salvations.
2026 Mega Outreach planned for October – prayers for provision.
Holistic: Medical + counselling + Gospel.
Empowerment
April 2026 (Damakasuwa, Kaduna): Skills training for 70 teenage girls (liquid soap, petroleum jelly, hair cream, perfumes, sprays) via Compassion Initiative.
Goal: Financial independence, dignity, hope. Gifts of clothing provided.
IT/Media Unit
Captures/shares stories via website (gcb-missions.org) and social media.
Maintains translation tools/laptops.
Need: ₦16 million for equipment to enhance documentation and outreach.
