In one of GCB’s partner communities, a woman named Asabe had heard about Jesus before but always in a neighboring trade language. “I understood the words,” she said, “but it never felt like God was speaking to me.”
Then one day, she heard the Gospel of Luke in her mother tongue for the first time. She cried. “This is the first time I heard Jesus speak my language,” she said. “Now I know it’s true.”
Since that day, Asabe has become a local leader in her fellowship. Her village now has weekly Bible listening groups and is working with GCB to translate the rest of the New Testament.
